Busted twice in a week.

Geez, big brother has really been in my business this week. First I was burning off the weeds in a couple rows in my garden with my propane torch and ended up talking to the fire department. The burn ban had been put into place two days earlier. No ticket, but absolutely ridiculous since I live in the country and can burn a fire in my fire pit 365 days a year regardless of fire danger.
Yesterday my wife and I went hiking at a local National Wildlife Refuge and after the hike we found a nice field for a little picnic lunch and kite flying. Had a great lunch and had just got all 500 ft out on my kite and my wife was still having launch problems with her big delta and we got busted again by a Ranger for flying our kites and distubing wildlife. Again no ticket, just a warning. I could see if this was maybe a pristine area, but they allow crop farming on this refuge, so a huge tractor pulling a plow is okay because that never kills animals, but my kite may disturb the ducks and geese that left about a month ago.
I hoping things will slow down a little for the rest of the week, since I am obviously having a hard time living within the rules these days.

Ahh life in a Democrat controled state

I heard enough horror stories down through the years that this doesn't really surprise me.

Well the kite flying was on federal property so I guess I should have titled it Obama won't let me fly my kite. My state gripe of the week is a fishing license is 33 bucks this year with a 2 dollar charge if you do it from your own computer like I did.

See, it all comes back to Obazma.
My Stepdad said it was crazy when he lived there in the early 70's. I did some research on the Portland area when the city I lived in in Montana was looking at using their growth management plan. Crazy was the right word for it.

The computer fee is a total scam. Less work for them and they charge you extra, what a joke.

Obama can go fly those kites imo. If you buy concert tix online, mailing is free and printing from computer is an extra fee.
My daughter played in a National racquetball tourney in Portland in March. She loved the area but said a lot of people looked like "hippies". She seemed courious about the marijuana dispensaries.

A lot of the commune people from the 60's ended up in Oregon. I remember a friend of my Mom's who moved to Oregon in the late 60's coming for a visit and compaining about all the "damn hippies" following them to Oregon
