i have had a raccoon butterfly for about 2 weeks. i have read that they are semi-hard to start feeding on brine shrimp and frozen food, but mine took to it right away. he has been eating very good but i though i would get him a "treat". since i was told that if he were not to start eating i should get a small anemone to get him to start feeding, so assumed that butterflies like to eat anemones. so i went down to my LFS and bought a $25 bubble tip anemone for him to eat. I thought that he would eat the anemone within a couple hours, but to my surprise the anemone is still in my tank and swaying in the current after 4 days. my butterfly nibbled on the anemone a bit at first but then spazzed out and started shaking his head like he was stung, and hasnt touched the thing since. why is there still an anemone in my tank????
