ok so I wanting to know peoples opinions between the 3 fish above and most importantly which one they would but in a 46 gal reef tank with a pistol shrimp and cleaner shrimp and
clown
purple firefish
yellow watchman goby
6 line wrasse
coral beauty
I was thinking about longnose butterfly, longnose hawkfish, the small christmas wrasse, or the magnificent foxface.
if it was the wrasse I would not have the six line so the fish above could be adjusted. I am setting up my tank today and am so pumped. wont be adding fish for a while just doing research. Thanks for the help this site is great.

butterfly fish-not garaunteed to be reef safe especially if you like clams and dusters and needs a bigger tank eventually if you get a small one. does best with live resources which the wrasse naturally competes for.
foxface- needs a WAY bigger tank. rarely are they available smaller than 4"
hawkfish-will likely eat your shrimp and possibly the firefish and goby. if it doesn't its likely do harrass them
christmas wrasse:
hopefully you mean this one

and not this one

the christmas tree wrasse is the best choice. Tank is a little small but not grossly too small. there's a chance it will eat the shrimp but not as much chance as the hawkfish. its more likely to be peaceful than the hawkfish as well.
none of those choices are garaunteed to work in a reef tank with peaceful inhabitants and shrimp.

I assume not also can I have a clown goby and a watchman goby in the same tank.
