I just got this at a lfs last night. Saddleback right? What do you feed it. It ate some live brine so far.

I've never seen a juvenile saddleback but it looks more like a threadfin or a falcula. They love fresh sea scallop and shrimp chopped fine, nice lookin little guy

Threadfin? Don't know that one... His dorsal fin is spiked. I didn't think falcula had a spiked fin. It was listed as assorted butterflys. Only $19.99 so I went with it. I know I can support it, but I think it's a mutt.:D

Sorry Auriga is the tech name I'm just guessing but the markings don't appear to be a saddle back post a pic in 6 months we could both be pretty surprised. Good luck

auriga YES
it will eat every thing in your tank.
it will kill all corals and anemones.
it will pick on weak or smaller fish
that said
they are nice to look at, but will limit any new additions to your tank...........
hope its in your 120 and thats its fish only
good luck

It's in my qt now, going in my 120 with a copperband. It should get along right? That being said, only other thing in there is snails and scarlets. The other fish aren't pushovers either. Will it mess with my cleaning crew?

Bought from *****, right?
I looked at a butterfly there and all it said was assorted. No one at the store new what type it was.
It also was $20, but I passed.

That definitely isn't a threadfin (chaetodon auriga), it's too plain- it looks more like a klein's butterfly to me, but not exactly. Did you see it eat at the store? I worked at ***** back in the day, and when we ordered those assorted b/f's, they didn't usually adapt to aquariums if they didn't arrive eating flakes or frozen. Hopefully you can convince it to eat flakes, if not I might try some sponge formula or one of those frozen foods for angels and butterflies. Good luck with it, though, it's pretty.

YOU'VE GOTTA SHARE WHAT YOU'RE SMOKIN'
I'd never buy from *****. I've been feeding it a frozen mix of muscles, clams, shrimp, and other crap. He's been eating well. I'll post some pics in a month or so assuming he makes it to my display tank.
