The first few days I had my new button polps it was great. Now its been 3 weeks since I had it and it hardly opens. It get plenty of light and I water change every week, since Im not running it with a skimmer. I'm currently running it with 15watts 6500k daylight. Is this normal for polps?

you may want to step the lights up a notch, 15 watts on a 5 gallon sounds a little low to me, my suggestion is to get it up between 35- 50 watts of total lighting. also do you feed any phytoplankton? i feed my tank regularly.

15 watts period is kindof weak- i wouldnt expect them to do well unless the were an inch from the light- a lot of times if they dont get enough light they will close- shrink- and die
