i've been doing some reasearch, like a good hobbiest and i've read that they don't need to be fed, or that they will do ok without it...and then i have heard that they do need to be spot fed, and that goes for lighting as well....some places say that it need strong lighting and some say low lighting....what's the truth???
one sorce:
Lighting - Water flow:
Zoanthids require water currents to bring food and can also be fed small amounts of suitable foods, (zooplankton, brine shrimp nauplii) but will do well without feeding. A strong light source is required for these corals to do well.
another sorce:
Care:
Hardiness: Button Polyps are extremely hardy and an excellent beginner coral. They will survive in almost any type of reef tank setup. Due to their ability to spread fairly rapidly, they can become a nuisance if they start to crowd out other corals.
Lighting: Will tolerate very low light levels, especially if they are otherwise fed, but tend to develop brighter colors under higher intensity lighting.
Water Current: Button Polyps prefer low to moderate water motion.
what i'm concerned about is the lighting mostly
