Buyers beware

I now have my 55 tank set-up and I wanted to list 2 products that I had problems with. This may help others who are looking for similar products. The first is the coralife digital power center. All though I didn't like this product, I praise coralife for all of the other products I have got from them. The problem with this product is that you cannot set the 2 daylight outlets for different times, so u cannot have the actinics on a different schedule than the daylights. Secondly the night outlets work in exact opposite as the day ones. This means that when one's on the other is off and vice versa, so their is no way to give your tank any time for complete darkness....... The second product is the in-tank refugium. The problem with this product is that it can't hold much weight and still hold to the glass inside the tank. So, when I tried a DSB it just fell inside of the tank. The only way for it to work is a very shallow sand bed and hardly any LR....... which can defeat many of the purposes of a refugium........ Any way I hope this helps

Which model from coralife? Is it the digital or the multi-timer. I am thinking about getting one, and If there are problems like that I'll probable buy several timers.

It is the digital one.... I thought it would work great, but after I couldn't set my lights how I liked with it, I switched back to 3 or 4 seperate timers.

Thanks. Has anyone used the Deluxe model. I almost ordered one yesterday, but I am going to wait until I hear some reports. I will use seperate timers if nothing else, but they are usually bulky and take up so much space...

I remember reading that also, but I think it was how he had it set up. He did not have a drip loop on his power cords. I know that salt is harsh on anything electrical. I have a cover over my recepticals that are around my tank.
