i think the lights sound really nice, but you wont be able to keep a few things, like clams or a few hard corals, but other than that those will rock! And on reduceing pictures, you need to reduce them to under 500 x 500, you can use micr soft paint, or any photo work shop, that can resize them, then you can post the pics, let me know when you do. good luck todd

TheSamm, that sounds like a perfect idea! I take care of a 180 gal, fowlr tank, its deep too, and my new tank, the 70 gal is deep too, 24 inches, but im going with a singlr 250 watt mh prob. an orbit! todd

I currently have two of these (150watt HQI 10k MH) hanging over my tank. They are about two feet above the tank. Should I adjust them to hang lower/closer to the tank? How far from the tank would you hang them (exact measurements please).

I Love your tank Plumberjohn!! Awesome tank, and if anything you might have to modify your wood top, but im with you, it looks great, i would find some way to keep it on, which i think you will be able to. And secondly Mudplayerx, Thats the kind of lights im going to add to my 70 gallon, because of the depth i need at least a 250 watt to penetrate, but that wont be for at least 6 months from now. Hmmm, take back all i said, just poor some Liquid Plumber in your tank, it will help soooo much!!!!

Just kiddin, But heres a couple suggestions, take that background off, and paint it blue or black, and take out the fake plants. in time you will understand why, you mainly want Live rock and water right now, then slowly add you soft coral, and Mushrooms ( a personal fav. of mine!! ) then some anenomies! just a suggestion.Thanx Todd

How far from the top of the tank would you hang them Blemmy? I want to utilize all the rays I can, but I don't want to fry everything in the tank either.
edit- plumbjohn... get some Caulerpa Racemosa. It is a neat looking plant that grows like a weed.

Mud im no expert but i would think that if you could , hang them 6 to 12 inches above the tank, i only say that because all the lights i see are about that high off the tank, you might ask Bigarn, or NMReef, or one of the gurues around here that know so much more than I about this stuff! Todd

Hey Todd thanks. No offense meant just saw your Vikings sign and I'm a Seahawks fan so thought a little ribbing would be Ok. Anyways I will take the background off and paint it I'll have to use a roller to reach. I'm also going to take the fake plants out and get more Live rock. I was thinking about buying it from this sight cause it seemed like a good price. Any suggestions on what to do when I get it or do I just place it in whenit arrives. The last batch I got I was told to rinse it in Club soda then with water from my tank in a bucket for about 5 min. Am getting my lights by Friday cant wait. Thanks again.

on your live rock, thats a good question, i personally didnt rinse mine, but some people say to. And the live rock from this site is really good stuff. you might ask around about the rock, get some other opinions. best of luck, i cant wait to see the pics! todd
