Buying LR

Hi, I have a super quick question. There is a fowlr tank at my favorite lfs and in it is some LR with that is covered with coraline. I am going to get my calcium level up and when I do, I am wanting to buy a piece of this rock to introduce coraline to my system. This fowlr tank has been setup for a long time and I was wondering if I have to qt the lr. If so, for how long?

QT anything that has been 'wet' (rock/fish/inverts)for a minimum of 3 weeks.
Even if I know the person well and they practiced good QT I would still QT something from them for 3+ weeks.

u dont really need to qt the lr, unless u think the lr might hold some bad inverts like mantis shrimp or aiptasia. but qt it wont hurt.

qt never hurts. the only reason you should do it in this case is to avoid the hitch hikers (sp?)

i wouldnt. if the rock is fine in that tank it wont bring threats to your tank. Get that rock in your tank and some urchings. They will chew up the coralline and spread it like crazy.
