Hi all,
I am due to pick up a 320L marine set up on Wednesday that is all ready to go. It has been a year or two since I have last had a tank, I have had 2 or 3 in the past, 2 small ones and 1 mid sized one, although I have always started from scratch and never brought one that is already set up.
I will be transporting it approx 30min drive, so not too far.
The guy that we are buying it from has had it for a year so it is established, he said to take half the water with us and fill the other half with new water once we are home.
If we have storage containers for the water and put fish inside these (8 fish all up in tank), use separate containers for the rock.
There are also a few corals, but they will really need to go in a smaller container so they cant move around, is that correct?
There is a sump with the tank.
Would I be ok to get the water I need from the ocean, at full tide, and wade out a bit so as not to get too dirty water, he has been doing this in the past due to water restrictions etc (Australia), does the water need to have anything done to it before using it?
What are the other important things i may need to know before i transport the tank?
