C-Balance, good or not so good?

I had my aquarium at my girlfriends house for a month or so while I was moving. I finally got it set back up at my new place and Calcium levels are a bit low since I wasn't able to dose kalk regularly. I was wondering if anyone has had good results using C-balance????

I use a two-part Cal/Alk product from Brightwell Aquatics(Reef Code A & B), same as C-Balance,ESV B-ionic, Kent Two part(kent being lowest on my list, not as good as the other IMO). My corals look healthy and grow pretty quickly, the SPS really take advantage of the two part solutions.

I would guess the Alk is way too high or your Magnesium levels are not where they need to be. If Mag is lower than 1200, you will never get calcium levels where they need to be. I use Salifert(CA,MG,SR),Seachem(PO4,Iodine,Nitrite and Nitrate,MG,SR) Tropic Marin(CA), Instant Ocean fast tests(Alk and PO4). I am looking to switch to the LaMotte tests, to see how I like them, when I need new kits. There has been some debate about reliability of the Salifert kits.

Have you tested the water coming from the Calcium reactor. What is the Cal level coming from it. You may not be injecting enough CO2 into the reactor, or maybe the output is not enough.
The PH within the reactor and the output needs to be around 7-6.4 for the media to dissolve fully. Not sure what your problem is exactly.

definitely check your magnesium levels....i was having the same problem until i started dosing magnesium once a week...now my Ca+ is 495 and alk is where it needs to be too

No problem, everything OK then. If you have problems in the future, you should know what to check now.

They are fine, very bad, but fine. My son Tripp lost a soccer game tonight, he's 6 and we don't keep official score yet, but they know. My daugter,Romey does gymnastics, she's 4, the coach wants her to join the olympic team when she is of age, I guess you need to be 6 or something of the sorts. My 2.5 yr old, Van is just bad, bad, bad. You have to love them, right? joking. He is turning into a pretty cool little kid, I'll have to admit. I guess it's in his genes. Thank you for asking, being a stay at home dad, my kids and my tanks are pretty much my life these days. Wouldn't change it for the world. Good luck with your tank, anxious to see future pics.

Sounds like your house is as busy as mine. Good luck with those little ones, they make my day, even when they are bad.
