Cacoon Looking Things

I was cleaning my tank today and moved some coral around and found these things on the bottem of a piece of coral that look like cacoons. When I touched it it had a shell covering but felt like it had somethig in it. I guess like the worm feels on a feather duster. Any ideas to what this might be or if I need to remove it.

i have like 4 of thos on the bottom of my star polyps. are they white and about a centimeter long?
