Just got my new test kits in. My alk tested at 3.04 and my calcium tested at 470. Do i just need to probably leave it alone and let the calcium come down a little bit to equal out with the alk. I just did a water change today because my calcium read 490 last night. my alk stayed about the same. I am using bionic and was using a kwik kit test kit that is reading a little lower than my salifert now. Thanks alot..

imo leave it alone and let things fall in place, but continue to monitor so one doesn't get more out of whack than the other.

Maybe it is just me but I dont see a problem with the alk and ca levels you displayed...alk could be just a tad higher upwards more to 4 meq/l, but right where it is now, I dont think I would mess with it....what is the ph?

You can just leave it be. Only use part A of the B-Ionic until your ALK is back in line with your CA.

Just did another test last night. Alk was 3.14 and calcium was 475. I would add part A, but everytime I do so the tank snows like crazy. Suggestions please..

Does it just fog for a minute or does it really snow? Part 'A' will fog the water for a bit. This is normal. Are you adding it slowly to a high flow area?
Just asking.... If you're doing it all right and it is actually snowing then one of your tests is wrong or your Magnesium is extremely low.

It really snows. I was using two old test kits I had and The readings were the same with the 2 new ones. My tank is a 7 gallon minibow and maybe there is not enough flow where I am putting it in at. I will try another area..My magnesium should not be low I am doing weekly water changes consistently.
