I've been trying to increase my calcium in my 125 for over a week now (its at 380) -
I've doubled (4 tablespoons/ 60ML) the #2 part of the B-Ionic (the calcium part) and it hasn't changed a bit -
My PH is on the $$ - and so are all my other levels. I just can't seem to get the calcium up - Anybody have suggestions?

2 parts are really bad to get the cal and alk up. it takes so much. i used over 90 ml total to get my cal from 380 to 450. From now on i use kent turbo calcium and super dkh for getting it up there and then 1 part for keeping it up

18.4 fl.oz of B-ionic is what your gonna need to raise calcium 70 ppm.But you will need to have your Mag 3x as high/mag 1350ppm

I use the same stuff as Matt and it works like a charm. I also have a 125.

Very good young Padawan, it sounds like you have come around…

check your magnesium levels if the calcium wont go any higher. few months back the same thing happened to me; couldnt raise calcium higher than 380ppm, later found out my magnesium was low.

Your test kit might be screwed up also. I had an api calcium kit and it wouldn't go above 350. I wrote them and they sent me a new one and it read where it sould be in relation to alkalinity. So check ur kit

I have had the same problem with my 125. alk. and mag. good but cal. low.
I have been doing the same as MaTT B and using turbo cal. to bring it up. as Veni said it takes a lot of two part to raise the cal. level. I also found the salt mix I was using had a low cal. level to start with. so using a salt mix that has a higher cal. level will also help. I am still fighting the battle of bringing mine up and may have to resort to a cal. reator before it's over.

Can you guys answer a question about mag in a nano??
I have a 24G and I change about 5 gallons a week or more with red sea salt....my calcium is always at 400 in the am...I add a teaspoon of kent calcium a day and it goes to 450...I have a large amoutn of coral so I'm sure it's (Ca) utuilized quickly...do you think I need extra mag given I change about 25% or more of the water per week?
thanks

If your mag was low when you added the cal you would top out at some number say you had mag at around 1050 your cal would top out at around 380 so I think your water changes are keeping up in regard to mag for now...

Checking the saltmix you use for water changes is great advice. I couldn't figure out why I was having so much problem keeping my pH and Alk up, as well as Calcium but my pH and Alk was giving me the biggest problem. Then I got smart and checked my newly mixed saltwater just before a water change. My pH and Alk were WAY LOW!!!
So now I buffer my newly mixed saltwater BEFORE I do the change. Amazing how things are starting to even out now.
(I'm using Reef Crystals, but I also think it has to do with my RO/DI water. I tested it right after it comes out of my unit and the pH is 7.0. My Reef Crystals gets it up to 8.0, but of course that is not enough, so I have to give it a little help.)

i think thats normal. having ro/di at 7.0. i think thats what it says in a middle school science book, that the pH of pure water is 7. i dont ever buffer it, just mix it with salt and let it mix for 48hrs or more

What do you think of the Red Sea salt?
My pH is always at 8.0...on occasion I've added buffer and it gets to 8.2...should I even bother? I suspect 8.0 is ok
