Calcium Levels HIGH

What is the best way to get my calcium levels DOWN. Other than doing a 50% or more water change.

How high is your Ca level? Are you sure the test kit measured the Ca level accurately?
I wouldn't advise a 50% water change just to bring your Ca level down. It would likely shock many inhabitants in your tank. Several smaller 10-20% water changes would be better.

What are your Alkalinity and Magnesium levels? 700 is a very high reading, and because Ca rises and lowers in relationship with other levels (Alk and Mg specifically), readings on these parameters may give you a better idea on why your Ca is testing so high (either a faulty test kit, or the Ca is really that high).
Also, I would test the Ca on a different brand of test kit and bring a sample of water in to your LFS just to be sure it's not the test kit.

If your tanks consumes alot of calcium, I would just let it come down by itself. You can do a 20% water change every 3-4 days to help it but mostly keep an eye on the alk and ph.

Can I just tag along with a similar question?
I did my weekly water tests last night and my Ca is 500 with alk 2 and pH 8.4 - my pH has always been nice and steady at 8.0 with alk 4 and Ca in the low 400s - what do I do to get my readings back to normal???
