I just got a reading that is 200. I need to fix as fast as possible for my reef.
how fast can i add calcium without shocking the inhabitants?

i wouldn't make any sudden changes, with any element. i'd raise it up a little each day. what is your alk?
what is in your tank as far as calcium needy creatures?
what salt mix are you using?
how often are you doing waterchanges?

my reading is more like 300-350 misplaced the directions. has
been so long since I added a supplement that I lost the
paperwork. waterchanges are 12% once a week. I use the
nutri seawater in a box. calcium needies crocea clam, frogspawn,
hammer, 2 different styles flowerpots, trumpet and a galaxia.
the rest are softies. I'll check alk tonight.

I wouldn't panic if your calcium is in the 300-350 range. What salt mix are you using? If you want to raise the calcium level to 400 I would just do weekly 20% water changes until you raise it.

use the calculator and raise it up 20ppm a day or so. you arent going to hurt anything. What do you consider "superb" alk readings? what's good is kind of dependent on what your calcium is. the calculator also shows what the alkalinity should be for your desired calcium for proper ionic balance
