I got my hands on a used but slightly damaged MRC calcium reactor and first had to repair some damage. The friend that sent it only asks for $50 for the unit if I can get it to work. Ain't fellow hobbisyts fun? Thats one of the many plus aspects of this hobby....
So the reactor cost me $50 and maybe $10 for the requiried repairs. I ordered a regulator and PH monitor from MRC for around $150 and today purchased a 5 lb CO2 tank for $50....this weekend I hope to start dialing this thing in and ween my reef off the manual suppliment program. Total cost so far has been about $260.....but to me its priceless because its been done via the help of a friend and fellow hobbyist...I've done business with another fellow hobbyist at MRC....the change from suppliments to a reactor will benefit my reef....priceless!!
