Calcium Testing

I was wonder how concerned I should be about my calcium levels for a FOWLR. I'm adding purple up for my coraline algae, can I add too much and disrupt things??
If I need to test for this what is the most common method to use?

but as far as the purple up, do as the directions state, it will be fine...but you should be testing for calcium, it is beneficial for fish too as well as humans and reefs etc. it can also be hard on your fish if it is too high...

If you are dosing Ca you need to test for Alk and Ph also.

If you are trying to get coralline alage to grow, you need to test the Calcium, Magnesium, pH, and alkalinity and make sure they all stay where you want them.
You want your calcium to be about 400-450, magnesium to be 1200-1350, pH to be 8.1-8.4, and alkalinity to be 8-11.
