CALEPRA CACTUS

I purchased some live rock a few months ago and it had these underwater plants on it, I believe they are called "Calepra Cactus" but I am not sure. Anyway, This stuff is going rapidly and I am wanting to know if this species can be cut and then place the cut pieces in other areas of my 30 gal. mini. In order to grow more of this plant.
Is this possible?

Yes, I agree with Sammy. I think you have what is commonly called "Cactus Stalk" Halimeda.
I started some in my 40 gal reef and I love it. It has a high calcium demand, so I have researched, and will grow well in a high water quality system. So use it as a benchmark on how well your system is doing! ;)

I believe this is what I have in my tank as well - it has gotten "out of control" - hehehe. I see the mithrax crabs munching out on this stuff and it's home to a very large pod population. I recently trimmed it and placed pieces in two other tanks so I'll report shortly on how easy this stuff is to replant.
You can see it to the left in this picture on top of the rock.
