California is set to pass a law that would allow local governments to opt out of a federal immigration law. If Brown signs this law 0bama is either going to have to let them do it which makes him look like a douchebag because he sued Arizona for enforcing federal immigration laws or sue California who will surely use a 10th Amendment defence which could torpedo his big government aganda. Should be fun.

What amazes me is how short sighted these California liberals really are. They don't want to report illegal criminals lest they get deported and never get to grow up to be good Democrats once they sneak amnesty through but this really opens up a can of worms. Hopefully there are a few conservatives left in California who will take this to court if 0bama and stedman don't sue the state.

I hope they pass and enforce it. California is teetering on the brink of complete insolvency. They are loosing thousands of manufacturing jobs every month and tax collection has fallen even faster. I want California to be a magnet for illegals. I want Californians to suffer from the murder, rape and property crimes that come from the illegals. I want them to have their taxes raised beyond what they can afford to support the illegals. I want the California dirtbags who vote for these crooks to be forced to live in the sewer that they have created. I wish we could put up a border fence around California so these liberals could not escape from the mess they have created and flood good states like Arizona, Idaho and Utah. Too harsh? Absolutely not! They deserve to get what they are demanding-then be forced to live with it.

If the liberals are right and illegals are a bunch of flower-sniffing, melon pickers then they ought to welcome the illegals and laugh at me as California becomes the cornucopia of racial harmony and illegals rebuild the states economy. What I wrote will p*ss off liberals because they know I am right and because if their looney tune brothers-in-arms have their way, the state will become a third world backwater. You libs wanna talk the talk? Open the floodgates and walk the walk.

First time I ever heard the term "Wet Back" was from an American of Mexican decent. The guys I knew in high school absolutely hated illegals because they thought they made all the "Chicanos" look dumb.

Archie Bunker lives! Why not call them by their real names? Wetbacks. A lot more blunt than "melon pickers".
I don't think he meant that the way you took it. I think it was referring to the line of work not a "wetback" style joke...

I still don't buy that a large segment of the "latino" population wants to give them amnesty or are really offended by immigration enforcement.

It's become quite apparent the Hispanic population in various segments of this country have become the "majority voice' in the areas where they live. Whether they are here legally or illegally is irrelevent. Those here legally will do whatever it takes to support their fellow "Latinos". Politicians aren't stupid, and will pander to anyone who has the majority vote.
We've had an interesting chain of events in San Antonio regarding our Hispanic majority. One of the leading Latino groups has been pushing to change the name of a downtown road that has been named Durango for at least 100 years, to Cesar Chavez Blvd. to honor their famed CALIFORNIA migrant farm leader. They've tried numerous times over the last several years to no avail. We recently had our City Council elections, and now have seven Hispanic leaders, and four other "nationalities". The week after the election, the Council puts a vote up for the name change, and by a 7 - 4 vote (The Hispanics all voting 'for'), the name is being changed. The majority of voters in this city are vehemently against the change due to costing at least $100K for the sign changes, and businesses and residences having to change all their documentation to the new name. The Conservation Society has filed a lawsuit to put it on hold (due to the historic value of the current name), and a judge has granted a restraining order on the name change. Ironically, Google Maps has already changed it to reflect the new name. Wonder what the ethnic makeup of Google is today?

Yeah, I am tired of the racial crap coming from minorities. What would the elites say if 90 plus percent of white voters had voted for McCain last election? Locally in the mayors race in Denver there is a map the shows the black area going for the black candidate and the "mexican" area going for the latino. Not sure if there is a "white area" in Denver but the white boy got creamed in the ethnic areas. It's one thing to show pride in your ethnic heritage but when you place your race above your country you should be shot as a traitor. I suspect the 100K for the sign change will be a drop in the bucket compared to what it will cost to keep the sign in place un vandalized if public sentiment is so strongly against it. I'd be up for a little spray paint patriotism if they pulled that garbage in my city.

This is not a racial thing, though that's where the conversation always goes. Last summer a Border Patrol agent was killed by Yuma when he was hit in the head with a rock and fell in the Colorado Delta and drowned. He was chasing 30 Chinese that were caught later that day. No one is being prosecuted for his murder because they wouldn't tell who hit him. I say send all them to prison for murder since they all were committing a crime when the murder was committed. Illegals are illegals, regardless of race and should be treated as criminals, regardless of race. The fact that 11-20 million people have flooded in doesn't mitigate the fact that there are 11-20 million criminals here flagrantly breaking our laws. Now that Arizona can shut down businesses that hire illegals, I can't wait for the million and a half criminals to scurry like cockroaches over to California. So that is why I applaud California. We are going to clear out the slums of Phoenix and Tucson as they run for cover to California. So enjoy California! Idaho, Utah and Wyoming will be passing laws like ours soon, so you'll get to protect all these unfortunate undocumented immigrants to your hearts content.

Just don't complain when all those businesses either shut their doors because they can't afford to pay the "normal help" the $8 - $10 per hour they're paying those illegals $3 - $5 per hour for the same work, or the price of goods and services in Arizona skyrocket because their only alternative is to pay the higher wages. You'll get rid of all those "stinkin' cockroaches", but you'll pay for it out of your pocket. Also hope you don't mind your property values plummeting. With all those rental properties going into foreclosure because those "illegals" aren't there to rent them, your house will lose about 1/3 of its value. Cause and effect..
