Whats the quickest way to get calcium up to par for a tank. I have a 75 gal up and running. Just got my 200 changed over to salt but dont want to put all my contents in it untill all readings are right. You suppose if i fill about 10 gal of kalkwasser and quickly add to the tank, it will help, or should i go the slow process and just wait it out. I realize by dumping in the kalkwasser, my ph will rise, but im looking for a solution to getting calcium up quick (within a week or 2).
Thanks

If you hurry Calcium additions you may end up with less than you started with when it precipitates.
The quickest way is probably with a water change and then regular dosing of a two-part additive like ESV B-Ionic.
What are your current levels and what are you striving for? Just asking so don't get offended... are you familiar with the need for Carbonate in addition to Calcium?

Well, I have just converted my freshwater setup to salt. I have 150lbs of old silica free sand (full of worms etc..) and 300lbs of new silica free sand and I also put about 100 lbs of live rock in it. I currently have a very healthy 75 gal tank that has about 200lbs of live rock (including the sump). It is so full of corals, I cannot possibly put another coral in the tank. I dosed with calcium for about 6-8 months before I ever added my 1st coral to the 75 gal. I really dont want to wait that long, but I also dont want to kill anything. I will just monitor it and keep dosing, If it takes 3 months or so...I can live with that.
