I asked this in another thread but I'm going change it a little and maybe I might get a better response.
Those of you that have a 55g tank. (Does not matter if it's a FO or Reef)
1: What kind of filteration do you currently have?
2: Does your water stay perfectly clear with the occasional sand storm?
3: What kind of skimmer are you running? Is it Quiet?
4: Does it take the protein out on a regular basis?
5: Do you have a Fuge/Sump?
6: Is that a part of your filtration unit? Seperate?
7: How long has your tank been set up?
That's it for now...... Maybe this will help me decide what kind of filtration/skimmer to upgrade too.

55 gallon
1. Remora Pro skimmer
5-6" DSB
Water changes and good circ. also help
2. Water is crystal clear
3. I think the skimmer is quiet its in my bedroom but then again I am probably use to it as now I can not get to sleep without it on.
4. If its maitained well it does a great job.
5.No sump/fuge, but I definetly would not do another tank without one or both
6. Tank has beens set-up for about 3 years but only a reef for about 1 year

Do you skim protein on a regular basis? Are you dumping the collection cup a few times a week?
2. Water is crystal clear
Nothing floating in or around like sand food. The flare ups here and there are normal. Not blurry or cloudy...etc...
Whats a FOWLLS? [/B]
Fish Only With LR LS..........oops I forgot to add a "R"..hehe

I skim 24/7 I empty about once a week but I am running a very low bioload at this point, only one tomato clown. I also forgot to add I have about 100lbs LR.
Some days are better than others but my water is usually fairly clear, I run carbon which helps also.

Thanks, believe it or not, that tank is just five NO 40 watt bulbs.
I have two 10,000 K, two 50/50s and one actinic.
Seems to work since everything in there grows like crazy!
