She did give me the OK to dive by myself on our honeymoon though. Probably had nothing to do with the $300 I spent for her to spend a nice morning at the spa at the resort though!

I did the same thing. Sent her to the spa for her birthday in Jamaica so I could do the scuba cert class.

If you did the class at a resort I would definitely check to make sure that you are truly certified. Most resorts that offer a 1 day class are not giving you a recognized diving certification like a PADI or NAUI certification. All they are doing is certifying you dive with them at their resort. A real beginner SCUBA class is a few weeks long, contains hours of pool training and 2 checkout dives.

I really have nothing else to compare Bonaire too (my other 30 dives have been in Dutch Springs Quarry) but its AMAZING there...
Coral and fish like you cant even imagine..there are colors on coral that you cant even imagine.
Tutrles / Sea horse / Frog Fish / all kinda inverts
Shore diving is amazing there boat dives are great if you dont want to lug gear around.
Everyone has there fav dive site but there are well over 200 to choice from. I would probaly invest in the book called (Bonaire Shore diving made easy) has great info about all the dive sites and how to get in and out (some can be tricky)
If you havent been there before maybe a few guided dives are probaly the way to go. There is a great guy by the name of BAS I can shoot you his info. He does UV night dives and thats amazing (there are some pics of there on my pic site from the tank I have more if you want.. in fact I bought the UV lights for myself I like it so much)

Hilma Hooker- big wreck (do this in the AM its deeper around 90 feet)
Karpata is a MUST.... looks the you diving on a mountain range.

I signed her up for the e-learning PADI course. She can do all the classroom stuff here and then I would join her in the dives were going to do in ARUBA.
It'll take 2 days worht of diving to get the certification for her so it should be fun....
Then like someone mentioned in the future if she wants to go she can or she can hit up the spa for a day and I'll go dive.

You ever call DAN to ask about their stance on asthma and diving? I would think the problem is that sucking down the compressed air dries you out big time, which I would assume can spark an asthma attack.
