I'll take pics tomorrow.

get used to crushed coral getting brown. thats why it's usually a problem and LS isn't cause it's easier to sift

My lights are like 5 years old. But here is the catch, my parents set up this tank like 5 years ago and it crashed in like a month and they didnt ever try to redo it. I have had it set up for about 3 monthes now. You think its time to change out the bulbs?

i would it will prob cost u less than 100bucks for 3 new ones as opposed to what it cost me to rid my tank from algae. it's a great start. Phosban, underfeeding, new bulbs, cut light back to 7hrs on, and one hell of a skimmer does the trick. trustme!!! wish i had pics from when i was harvesting hair algae and cyano

No i use RODI water from my own unit. I am not sure why this all started. My skimmer fills the cup like every 3 days. I really want to get rid of this stuff. Its the diatoms that bother me the most. It grows so fast when i turn the lights on. When i turn it on in the morning so much of it is gone then within 30 minutes its growing back fast. So to me it seems like a light issue? I think.
