What kind of info do I need to ask about test on the city water? I might have my wife sold on a RO/DI system. All depends on whats in the city water.

Just tell them you'd like to know what elements are in your drinking water. They're obligated to tell you. :D

There are over 3,000 contaminents in tap water and they are only obligated to tell you about 6.

My city publishes the information every year - and even have it posted on their website....

Bang Guy does that mean if I get my water from the tub instead of the kitchen the copper, lead and stuff might be lower? I dont like the copper lvls. Not sure if thats really bad but I know you want to stay away from it 100%. I have done most of the plumbing and there are no copper pipes under the house but not sure about under the ground where i can see.

looks like your best bet to argue for an RO/DI for health reasons is the lead level... It looks like the lead is a bit high for the sample taken from someones kitchen sink... not to say you have lead pipes but the lead can also leach from the solder holding the pipes and fixtures together.... I know around here in the older city houses the water service pipes (from the main to the house) are mostly lead.. this leaches into the water at the house and isnt contained in the water supply. You can check to see if your service is lead by looking at the pipe right where it comes into the house before the meter... as you may have all copper after that...
but if thats not the angle, and your wife will go for the health of the tank more than yourselves, then the copper arguement might work too.
good luck:D
