Came on my Live Rock

Bought a very small piece of live rock maybe a month ago and now I just noticed that something I thought was algae may not be algae. Anyone know what this is. Its not taking up any more area but just growing these polyp looking things.

it looks like some sort of clove coral. if it is, then its harmless. it can spread pretty quick like xenia.

Is it going to take over my entire live rock? If so is there a way I can limit it to maybe half of the rock?

You can seperate that rock from the pile so it can't get a foothold. (give some sand-space in between it and the rest) Keep us posted,I'm interested to see what it turns out to be

Or just chip off the corner where the polyps are. and keep that on the sand.
