I would certainly try to get him out if you really get into corals. They are definitely known as coral nippers.

does he climb on your hand during feeding. I can't keep my peppermint shrimp off of me when my hand goes in the tank.

the night before i caught him sneaking up on the mushrooms. last night he got one. he wont come 2 food, & he is in a crack the second my hand hits the tank. if i don't get him soon i will be out alot of money. maybe i'll stab him with a meat fork like a harpoon then have scampi

I am beyond frustrated now. i spent the last 3 hours chasing him down with a net and a hollow pen. the only thing i have accomplished is breaking the neck on my $50 powerhead. so i am now out $120 and counting. all because of a $7 shrimp my wife just had to have. if i can't get rid of this shrimp i am going to switch to freshwater. what good is saltwater if you can't keep any corals. fish swim in both types of water. it is the other life forms that make it so neat. so if anyone out there has ever had to catch a unsocial shrimp i am begging you to tell me how you did it.

Take a two gallon soft drink bottle and cut off the top past the point where it is at its maximum diameter (not the curvy part at the top). Cut the bottle top off so you leave a hole like 1.5-2 inches in diameter. Invert the removed top piece and put it in the decapitated bottle so you make a little one way (sorta) trap. Put some food in there and wait. It may or may not work, of course. Good luck.
