Camera ? for taking reef pics

Kind of an off the wall question, but what kind of camera do you use to take pictures of your reef tanks? I see some great pictures that are zoomed in really close, and then you occaisionally see those pictures that look like they were taken from the other side of the room. I don't know if I have a good, decent, or great camera... but I don't seem to be able to get zoomed in for close ups.
I don't know much about cameras. And I wouldn't even know what to tell you about my camera???
It's a Sony DSC-P52 cyber shot, says 3.2 mega pixels, 2x zoom, and smart zoom.
What am I dealing with here?
I'd really love to put some pictures up of my tank for comments or suggestions as I continue to build. I have some really pretty mushrooms and star polyps, xenias and zoos. And I just got a very cool looking leather coral... with all kinds of tiny bumps on it.

I think thats the same camera I use to take my pics. My trick is I use a magnifying lens in front of the camera lens.
