Camera Help

OK...My Kodak digital camera died last night...so I am going to buy a new one today, BUT I do not have a lot of money right now....my old camera had like 3 or 4 megapixels, and some sort of zoom...
What would be an ok camera to get on a very TIGHT budget (I'll get a better one later in the year) Is 7 megapixels good?

Megapixels isn't the paramount concern with a camera, despite what all the ads say. Sensor size is a better indicator of the quality of the photos.
I just bought a Canon 880 for Christmas. Paid under $300, and it takes great photos. Even has an 'aquarium' setting.

I have been looking up cameras online, and I don't see anything about sensor size, what should I look for??
