Camera question

Oh okay....cool.....I am only getting the XT. But hey if you say the 2 gig works for you, then it will work for me.....I'll look it up....I appreciate it. How about photo editing software, read about an adobe photoshop elements. Is the one that will come with the XT good enough?
Just a beginner hobbiest....nothing serious yet...eventually nice family shots or landscaping....but never professional.....

Well Maelv, it has been perfectly fine for you to take over the thread. I have learned some interesting things. There seemed to be some going back and forth there in the middle of the thread so i figured i would just stay out of that. I still dont really know the answer to my original question. Just that DSLR cameras do not go by the optical zoom specs. Any ideas how the stock lense would translate to optical zoom?
Having to wait for my camera to show up is requiring a lot of patience just like keeping a SW tank. I wish it was here yesterday. LOL
