Thanx , I'm lookin at cannon G6 or nikon D70
Hi Dave,
I recently purchased the Nikon D70 Outfit with the kit lens, which is a great lens for what it cost in the package deal, and I must say this is the MOST AWESOME camera I have ever used. Check out the review here at
dpreview and see what you think. I think you will be VERY satisfied with the camera. I have also purchased the new
Sigma 105mm "DG" Macro Lens which is AWESOME for close up fish shots. I am now in the process of getting the
Sigma 50-500mm "BIG MAMA" Lens for outdoor and wildlife shots. I have found that
Adorama and
B&H Photo are the two most reliable and dependable of the online sources. They may not ALWAYS be the cheapest but they seem to be the BEST online photogragphy sources.
You can see some shots I took with my D70 this weekend while in Atlanta. I was going to post them here but by the time they are sized down to 102Kb you lose all of the quality of a good photo or it is so small you cannot see any detail. I have them converted to JPEG format and resized to 640 pixels wide on my website and they still average 200Kb. Also, remember when you see these photos, I am VERY new with the camera plus I had my 3 y.o. son with me, who is VERY impatient, so I shot 57 pictures in a little less than 30 minutes without using my tripod, so they could have turned out much better if I would have taken more time with them and used my tripod. It will give you a good idea what this camera is capable of though. If you would like to take a look at them just click
HERE.
I hope this will help you out a little because I know how confusing it can get trying to pick out the best camera. I did a lot of research on all of them before I bought and this was by far my number 1 choice.
If you need anything else, just send me a PM and I will try to help in any way I can. Another good source to ask questions about aquatic photography is
HERE.
Take Care and Good Luck!
