No experience with them.......sorry. I do know that it is usually best to deal with an actual camera manufacturer though. We have seen and heard so many horror stories at work about the computer company cameras.

RyeBread,
What do you think about the Olympus C5050 Zoom? My dad has one and I just got done shooting a wedding with it. Regular pics turn out great, but I haven't had a chance to play with the macro mode. What have you heard about them in your business??

The 5050 seems to be a very nice model. Unfortunately I decided not to carry the C-5050 in my shop because the Olympus Rep tipped me about how long the 5050 would be on the market.........4 months. I try to keep the most current models and I don't like to have to discontinue a camera after 3-4 months. Feedback is good from users though.

That's too bad that the Olympus 5050 is being D/C'd. I was wondering why I couldn't find them anywhere. What is Olympus going to replace it with since that is their only 5MP cam?

Hey Rye - I am looking for a camera too. Hate my Sony Digital! Shutter is too slow - miss too many good shots, finicky focus, almost always need to adjust pics birghtness, and the battery life stinks. I think you are correct....stick to companies that are in business to make cameras! Anyway, I have seen your G3 pic's for some time and they are fabulous, so what do you think about the Canon EOS-300D?? Seems like a fair price and has good reviews. Thanks, Elysa

I have a question regarding the cannon.....I have the G2 from last year....and love it. But lately I have been experimenting with the macro. Do I still need to leave the adjustment to "auto"? It seems too slow and I have a hard time with it catching up with my fish. I am just getting into this digital thing, I am a through and through 35mm fan. Just trying to keep up. :D Any thoughts/help?

I couldn't really say anything bad about the Canon cameras eden. I had great experiences with them and found the reviews to be very accurate on them. www.dpreview.com is the place to look when it comes to reviews.......if they say it's good......it's good. :D
lovethesea- The macro mode is usually only used for very close shots.....like 2-8 inches from the glass. If you are not that close.......don't worry about putting it into macro mode.....you won't need it. Macro does slow down the focus a little bit.....I try to keep the cameras in standard modes when shooting fish pics......you can always zoom in with the software later.

I just got the Canon Power Shot A60 for my birthday. I like it so far. However I cannot seem to figure out why I sometimes get a clear macro shot and sometimes its all blurry. Probably user error. That review site said it was a pretty decent camera, anyone else have one?

I am taking Ryans advice....his pictures are to die for...Look at his post above yours and his advice to me regarding macro. I am going to give it a shot. If anything decent come out of it I will post it.
