Camping in the Dunes

The wife and I went camping at the Sand Dunes in Southern Colorado a couple weeks ago and I thought I'd share some pictures.

It's about 5 hours south of Denver. Just a big piles of sand in the middle of nowhere. There are mountains all around the dunes. We camped about 30 minutes from them. We had to drive a 4x4 to get to our campsite and go through a couple streams. There is a bear box at each site to put your food and we had a few deer wander through our camp site. I was attacted by a humming bird. Awsome little birds but mean.

Thanks everyone for your coments. The Dunes are my favorite place to camp.

It's not all that bad of a place to take the kids. We saw kids in the stream making sand castles and some with sleding disks going down the hills.
