If these are the only three items I want in my 29 gallon tank besides snails and red and blue hermits is a 29 gallon big enough for two clowns and a cleaner shrimp?
can 2 clowns and a cleaner shrimp live in a 29 gallon?

I forgot to mention that I have one gold stripe maroon clown now and want to get it a mate is this possible?

gsm's are tempermental, and should be introduced at the same time.

There was a thread earlier debating this issue. One of the moderators, BangGuy I believe, posted that while 1"/5 gallons is a good general rule, it can be broken. He posted that for an experienced hobbyist 1"/3 gallons is probably more accurate.
I would think that the ratio also depends on the type of fish you are planning to keep. Clowns are much cleaner than say puffers or lions.

What kind of tang did you get? I was thinking of getting one and trading him later, but heard most of them grow pretty quickly. Plus I've got a lot of LR and not as much swimming room as other 55s might have.

I have a 35 gal and I have 6 small fish my tank and when they are full grown I will have about 12 to 13 inches in a 35. So that's close to the 1"/ 3 gallons and it works great. All the fish look happy and they don't fight. They fought all the time when I had only 3 fish. As long as you check the water a couple of times a week and do more frequent water changes it will work just fine. I do agree with 1"/ 5 rule for large fish though.

no, sadly. Anenomes normally require very intense light, normally metal halide, sometimes you can squeak by with strong power compact/VHO, but only in rare cases (shallow tanks for example). They also are pretty tough to take care of and demand pretty good water quality.
This is only second hand knowledge, no first hand on anenomes yet - thats next years adventure probably. My 2 perculas are happy with their little spot in the bottom left of my tank by my mushrooms.

i got a yellow and a hippo. i know i know dont kill me, got it before knew, but its doing fine

It will work for awhile. I may just have to get thoughs to just to have them. But when they get bigger I can take them in and trade for some more smallers ones or something els. A never ending cycle lol. You can probly keep them around a year before they need a bigger tank "depending on size when you got it" so you would have them for a long time. I have thought about doing this with the purple tang but havent yet decided.
