Can a 20L back glass be drilled?

i want to make internal overflow. the bottom is tempered, but i want to add like a 10 gallon sump to it. so can the back glass be drilled an overflow box.

I just had my 20 gallon tall drilled with a bulkhead and i have a 10 gallon sump.
I will be setting it up this weekend when my parts arrive.

No problem!
Most 20 longs also do not have tempered bottoms, so you can drill the bottom too most likely. They are only about 30 bucks... so you could always try it if you are really interested... not a lot to lose.

You can reduce the noise by making a Durso standpipe. You can cap the end with a drilled pvc endcap and/or pvc segment.

well its off topic but i did make the stock man standpipes for my external overflow and they are still very noisey

if you search the thread called "acrylic overflow on glass" you can scan down to where (with everyone's help) I made an acrylic internal overflow and siliconed it to a glass tank...so far no leaks from this overflow.

cant figure out the stockman stand pipes, dont know if i should combine the two 1" returns into a 1.25" down to the sump. i came to terms that the mag12 will be throttled back, so my next move will be to reduce the plumbing from 1" to 3/4". dont want to do it but am thinking of breaking down the new tank to get a reef ready. but its just to knew of a tank to do all that.

no i do have vacation coming up. i did get all the tubing to do the test though. bet you thought i didnt consider it.

no not at all but setting here talking to you for the past cupple weeks and not being able to help is frustrating enough. Remember my setup is disasembled till I get back in a house this July
