I have an ornate goby which i have yet to see another one it matches my sand perfectly. anyways I have green hair algea and want to get a lawnmower blenny. i have a 4 yr old 46 gal tank with some coral. but I'm wondering these fish kind of look alike will they be ok together?
IMO I would not try it.
A lawnmower blenny can be quite aggressive, especially towards smaller fishes. Will consume cyanobacteria/slime algae and other types of microalgae. Needs a diet high in vegetable matter. One per aquarium.
A ornate goby should not be housed with aggressive fishes such as groupers, dottybacks, triggerfishes or angelfishes either.
My personal experience with lawnmower blennies is that they tend to be aggressive.
I'm sure there are people out there that have had lawnmowers that weren't but I would not take the chance with such a cool fish as your ornate goby.
Just my $.02
