There is no way to know for sure. Triggers are natural predators of seastars. Even if they just get "interested" in the star, they could cause damage...or they may do nothing. There is no way to know for sure, except that it is a significant risk, IMO.

I have a friend who had a similar type of trigger. I ended up receiving his chocolate chip star because the trigger was nipping at the stars tips.
I, however, have a Niger trigger with two stars and he doesnt touch them.
I wouldnt suggest it.
