Can any other fish besides damsels survive a cycle?

i think that you shouldnt even waste your money. transfer mollies. my topic that is on pg 2 or 3 here on reef tanks. there hardy (since they used to be FW) and will eat algae.

Hey I have an article that says a niger trigger is supposed to be more ammonia resistant than damsels. Hope this helps.
 
I cycled my first tank with damsels and the second with chromis. Damsels are a problem because of agression. After you get the LR in you can't catch them and they will terrorize any other fish you want to put into the tank. Chromis are a non-agressive schooling fish that you can leave in the tank. Much better option IMHO.
Remember the 1 inch per 5 gallon rule and don't add too many or you won't have room for the fish you really want.
They survive the cycle just fine although some say it shortens their life span due to the stress of the cycle. HTH, good luck
