can anybody tell me if my guess is right.... what is this fish?

we just bought a heap of stuff off a mate and not sure what this is... i think its a rare species of orange shoulder tang, that's what we were told by a local aquarium owner, not judging her knowledge of fish as they run quite a reputable business but would like another opinion.... thanks heaps

When I googled it the picks I saw have a big orange spot on the side, so I am guessing no, but don't take my opinion as fact

I am NO fish expert....but it looks like a purple tang to me. That is my guess.

Well, it is a pretty fish..and it isn't very purple. Maybe the LFS was right.

Dussumieri Tang (Acanthurus dussumieri) would be my guess.
Regardless, it's definately an Acanthurus something.

I have a Ctenochaetus strigosus "Kole Tang", but it does not look like your pic.
also, I would like to see more of this before I could completely agree, but the LFS sounds well informed.

Definatly not a purple, looks like a Dussumieri Tang to me also.
