Can anyone help?

This has happened twice now, I thought I had it figured out but guess not. I bought 3 clown fish and four days later two were dead and third died the next day. they look fine until the third day when they start getting a little pale and they get very small, maybe a half millimeter, white spots on them. Not very many spots mostly on the face and noticable on the clear parts of the fins. Then they start swimming vertically and its over.
My tank is a 125g with some live rock and sand, wet/dry sump, UV sterilizer thats on about 3 hours a day, temp is 75.6, pH 8.3, sg 1.024, ammonia and nitrites 0, nitrates are 15 at the highest. thats all the relevant info i can think of any help?

my LFS said it was due to the fact that i cleaned the outside of my glass with windex once or twice?

I doubt the windex killed your fish, unless you sprayed it in the tank. For future reference, if you do use windex, spray it on the paper towel far away from the tank, then wipe the towel on the glass to make sure none of the mist gets in the tank. There are also other things to clean the glass with that are not as risky. I have heard of people using vinegar, and I personally use a dry paper towel on the dry glass. It works like a charm.
That being said, the white spots you described sound like Ich is a possibility. Have you looked at the picture section in this forum which shows a pic of clowns with ich? Hopefully one of the resident experts (Beth, Lion or Sep) will step in here and give you some more input....
Sorry for your losses...

Also, your temp seems a bit low. I think the best range for reef tanks is somewhere between 78 and 80 ...

The spots sound like ich. Ich does not usually kill so quickly though. It does sound as though something is wrong within the tank. How do you acclimate the fish? Do you have any other fish in the tank? How do you clean your glass with the windex? Do you spray it on the glass?

I drip acclimate them for three hours. I did spray the windex right on the glass. The only tankmates are cleaner shrimp, hermit crabs, turbo snails, and a long tentacle anemone.

Alright, you probably got spray in the water. That can be toxic. Do a few water changes and run some fresh carbon in the tank. In the future just use fresh water on a paper towel. It works just fine. Don't use chemicals on or by the tank. Wait before you add another fish. Take this time to cycle a quarantine tank. Spots do not appear from windex.......no pun intended. Be sure to quarantine your fish to avoid a huge hassle later on.
