Can anyone ID this substance?

I didn't manage to snap a picture, but every now and then I'll find a clear, round, jelly-like blob in the bottom of my tank. It looks almost like a jellyfish and is about 3/4" in diameter. I found one in the tank about a month ago and another just yesterday. Has anyone else experienced this? I can't imagine what it could be or where it could be coming from.

If you see it again try to find out if it has any other charatoristics like tenticals, vent holes, pores or somthing...and a pic would help.

I do have a small cleaner wrasse. I also have a box fish, a cardinal, two percs, a gramma, a firefish, a coral beauty, a diamond goby, and several shrimp and crabs. I didn't notice any tentacles on the blob, but it did look a lot like a jelly fish, although it just laid on the bottom. I'll try to get a picture if it shows up again.

More than likely it is a mucous covering that the cleaner wrasse produces at night to protect itself.

I didn't know that wrasses did anything like that. It does make sense since it didn't appear to be alive. Thanks for the info.

Hi... I have the same stuff in my still-in-cycle tank. It looks like clear jelly. The replies to my post were that it's something call die-off (whatever that is) and that I should just let nature take its course. Whatever...
