Can black perc's and normal perc's mix?

Ive been trying to find out a bit about clownfish before I actually go and buy one... Ive decided so far I like the Black and White Percula's and the regular Percula's.
Since they are both the same species and only differ in coloration, is having one B&W and one normal ok? will they live together and not cause any problems? (possibly share an anemone?)

I would not mix clowns, I tried & failed! I knew befor I tried it was a bad idea but I was prepaird to move them as soon as any sign of troubble. For the first couple months all was good. Then they started sharing the sebae then one started attacking the other then got moved. The problem I found is that a attack can happen fast & without warning ,because they were getting along great, & you will end up with a dead fish. People have said that it does work, however I think that with a anemone things can get hostile in a hurry.ViPeR_930 is right but I think you would have to be very lucky & get the right ones. Buy the way all my clowns are fine, just living in diffrent tanks now.

Black & White Perc is actually the common name of a B & W Ocellaris clown so it's not the same species as a regular Percula.

good point, I meant false perc (whats the difference anyway? maybe im kinda blind but I cant seem to see any difference between false and true (i know species is diferent but fishbase says they grow up to the same size and pretty much are the same o__O (thats my impression anyway) (and a lot of parentheses too!))

(LOL)
Percula are smaller than Ocellaris, grow up slower, and don't swim around the tank as much as Ocellaris. There are physical differences like fewer Dorsal spines for the Perc but care is identical.
Adding Clownfish together is only slight risk when the fish are small. The larger they are when you put them together the less likely they are to get along. This is because it's more likely that they are both females.

....and if you can count the dorsal spines on a moving ocellaris/percula than give your phone# to the scout for the Baltimore Orioles 'cause you're going places, man.

My two ocellaris are ocellaris' b/c I have (a) come close to actually counting the dorsal spines after analyzing 30-50 digital camera images, (b) 'cause I really only paid $12 for each of them, but mainly (c) because my wife says so....and has since forbid me bringing this conversation up with her anymore, or anyone who comes into our house.
Honey this ones for you...... :scared:

mm i see.. what I sorta plan on doing is, as soon as my tank can hold anemone's (a few months into its life i guess), I intend to get 2 small BTA, set em far apart, and then get 1B&W Ocelaris and 1 normal ocelaris. I like the idea that perc's are smaller and grow slower (though fishbase says theyre both the same.. gyaaah @__@). this way if they dont like each other theres 2 anemones so they wont kill each other.. i hope...
Alternatively just a BTA and 2 perc's... but who knows ^__^. Thanx!!
