I have got ick in my tank twice before which spread to all my fish but my two gobies. confused2:While every one was holding on for dear life, the two just kept swimming around happily like the little farts they are.
i belive that any fish can get ick, but IMO, many gobies, are more reisitant to diseases and parasites than most other fish if htey have good water conditions, so it may be possible that they survived the outbreak

From research i believe wild neon gobies are cleaners, therefore I believe they have some sort of resistance to ick in order to clean sick fish. But like all fish some are more tolerant than others. So i am assuming they are on the more tolerant end whereas Hippo and Yellow Tangs are more susceptible.
I had 5 fish in my tank. All but my two firefish gobies got ick and died in the past week. I lost a naso tang, coral beauty and percula. The firefish are just happily swimming around with no signs whatsoever of the ick. However, I could go home and be sorely disappointed. I'm keeping my fingers crossed on this one! Maybe they ARE somehow more immune!
I was just reading an article in the April issue of Aquarium Fish Magazine about 14 of the hardiest marine fish species. The dartfishes (Microdesmidae) are known for their resistance to disease.
Decent article, if you get a chance to read it. There's also an interesting article on the plight of the coral reefs that will really get you thinking.
