That would be a cool idea. I had that same thing set up on my 75. I had the 10 gallon tank next to the main tank and they shared the main sump. I bought a predrilled 10 gallon and hooked an 801 to it for a light amount of flow and had it return into the sump.
Now I have the refugium under the tank in a combined sump/fuge. I didnt have the plumbing the way I like it at the time. But I'm sure I will try to set it up again soon.

I agree with those statements. I was refering to the tank being connected to the larger/main tank as a refugium.

another thing you have to keep in mind is that seahorses are vertically oriented fish and do better in taller tanks, especially if you obtain a mated pair. They will move up and down through the water column, each morning to strengthen their pair bond, not to mention to search your lr for food (copeopods, amphipods, etc). MY MOM HAs the same problem in the fuge that filters her 135, she wants to put some dwarf seahorses Hippocampus zoasterae, but it is so dense with caulerpa, and so "vertically challenge" ha that they wouldnt have any room to move around!
i would not reccommend it, for the sake of the horses!
good luck
