can i get some help on how to set up a qt tank

ok my fish have ich in a reef so i need do do the qt thing. how do i do it without killing my fish? i have a 10 gal tank 4 small fish and a small emperior(sp) filter that is not in use. the bio wheel is not established anymore. what about cycling? what will i need to do (water changes, filling the tank, etc.)? any help will be great. btw i did a search for the info and didnt find any answers for the questions i had.

I ran into the same situation last week. I ended up setting up another q-tank that wasn't cycled. I was told to just keep doing water changes if it started to cycle. Also keep the bottom bare and when you do a water change suck the suff of the bottom of the tank. I've had the tank running for almost a week and so far it hasn't shown any signs of ammonia, nitrates, and nitrites. HTH
