Can I keep a clam?

Well, as the title states, can I? The only real potential problem is my Koran Angel. He is right now in a full blown reef and hasn't touched anything. I was planning on buying a clam and wanted to see if it were possible. Also, I'm not worried about the lights, I have 2 250w metal halides. Thanks in advance

It would seem to me that you have a decent shot of a clam working in your tank. You know angels are though. Always be aware.

how would I go upon introducing it then? Should i make a egg crate sanctum for it and after a while take the egg crate off? Also, maybe keeping the fish fed well will decrease the risk of it nibbling at it.

If I were to add a clam, I would do it so that there is no attention called to it.
Place it in the tank when the lights are off or when the fish are distracted by food.
If your Koran is like my Angels, if he sees that you are trying to get him not to eat something, then it will be gone by the morning.

I think I'll try that idea. I will also try to build a egg crate sanctuary so that it doesn't have the erge to nip. Thanks for the advice.
More tips, hints, advice are welcome!!

As the person trying to sell you the clam, I'd say you can do it. LOL Your lighting is fine, just make sure you keep your calcium up...and I mean UP. This gigas is a beast and will continue to grow. The only issue you may have you have already addressed...the Koran Angel. How attached to the fish are you? Cus it's not unheard of for a clam, especially one this huge, to kill the fish. If the angel comes over and starts nipping it and the clam doesn't like it, it will close quickly with the fish's face trapped within its shell. The clam will then open sometime the next DAY...to make sure the fish is dead.
I can't find a pic of such an event, although I have seen some. The only pic I can find is a nice giant clam fed up with getting nipped by a buddy of mine...
