told yeah youd have some interesting replies. but i second eric B, There are some good people on here willing to help you out, i know ive gotten a lot of help on here and input, i appreciate those that are patient and help out. just curious how big are the triggers now? I had a humu humu and the niger in my 55 together with the puffer but the two triggers together were just reaking havoc after a while, the single niger is pretty peacefull but i think he only has a few months before he goes back to the lfs for a replacement.

sep, honestly i am sorry, people like sharkman obviously want to get a rise from people and i gave it to him, immature on my part. what is up with the infraction though, i can't get a warning or something instead of points? it was a mistake, i won't make it again but you can just remind me not to use bad language and let it slide no?
The infraction was a warning. The next one carries a two week ban with it. Please don't talk to people like that again on here. If you have an issue then PM a mod. Don't curse at people and insult them. You could have gotten two. I was taking it easy on you. Please don't talk to people like that on this site. We are all here to learn and share experiences. Do that in a positive way.

oh ok, thanks for "taking it easy on me". it's amazing how a fish site comes with such bs.

As an aside, Nissan was putting the shark into the 75, knowing that it had to go into a larger tank. The 75 is the same length as a 55 but has about 6 more inches of turn around space. A 55 is very narrow. I have a 55.

At the moment I have the hawk in my avatar, which has been there for over two years, a female maroon clown, had her for about a year, and I just introduced a cherub angel tonight. She had been in QT for four weeks.

Sharkman, I had an eppaullette for about 3 years until it outgrew my 225 gallon!!! These guys get very large, as do most sharks. I'd say, the smallest common aquarium shark, a coral catshark, could do well in a 180 gallon tank (6' x 2') for life... as a minimum for the smallest shark.
On another note, are you aware that triggers are among the most aggressive saltwaterfish? Sharks are also pretty peaceful, with the exception of things that they can actually eat. Triggers would kill a shark.
BTW, probably not the best practice in this hobby to find the single person with the most inadvisable setup (ie. shark in a 75 gallon), and then go a bit smaller. You'll be in this hobby a LOT longer and save a LOT of $ by making safer choices.
You may be aware based on the responses already, but this idea of keeping a shark long term in a 55 gallon is such a joke that I actually thought you started this thread just to stir people up.

No you cannot. Simple enough? You shouldnt even have the fish you have in the tank you do unless you plan to upgrade.

Someone, somewhere has done everything in this hobby. Doing something and long-term success are very different things. IMO, finding that one person and using that as justicication for doing something, that is so far out of line that many forum members consider it a joke, is a path for certain failure. Its been said above; but just your present stocklist is WAY too much for a 55. Unless you thin your herd; you're going to start witnessing "survival of the fittest" very soon. As the three fish you have now grow, they won't tolerate the cramped conditions; a 55 isn't big enough for an adult of any of your fish; much less all three, and adding more..........no comment.

that is true. the shark was in the tank. but it was set up like 4 years ago. then it was transfered to a 250g shallow tank. he is still there. i see him from time to time. yea i do hatch eggs in my 75g but that was 2 years ago. i dont have the money to keep the 75g up. all the fish that were there were sold to with the tank. so really idc what you people call me cause really im more mature then that. i dont mind. those are words, they dont describe me one bit. but hey what can we do with these people that swear know everything about me.
sharkman dont put a shark in a 55g. yes ima say i made a mistake but hey at the end the shark is still alive and happy. i use to hatch a new shark every 3 months for 2 years. and every shark lived and swims happy in the tank. if i can go back in time i wouldnt put a shark in but whats done is done. in those threads i may have said the shark pass away but he is still alive swimming with 2 more of the sharks i hatch. so yea man.
Salt Life idc what you say about me but man grow up.
and everyone else that said anything about me,
wow im amazed but w.e
i dont care.

its just sad people have to get so heated, im still a nooby to the whole salt water tank life, but its nice when people calmly give you your opinion its just irritating when people make you feel stupid, then you dont wanna even bother asking a question and just doing what you feel like which could end up hurting fish or yourself...

i know what you mean. yea its sad how people here swear they have more knowledge then others. and that they know what i did with the tank and sharks. they say this is a place to learn but i see more arguing and cussing then learning. ive learn alot from here. well in the nano section. people there actually help you. not here with this.
i would truly appreciate it if they closed this thread here. cause new reefers or anyone will be like wow and this is a "family Website"
if any mod can close this thread i will be greatful cause we want more people to join this forum and then not join at all.

I have already issued two infractions to people in this thread. Need there be more, or are we going to actually try to help this person?? That is what we are all here for. Sharkman, a 55 gallon is good for a grow out tank for a shark. They need a smaller tank while they are young so that they can actually get some food. A shark would need to be in the 55 alone. The stock that you have in there now will all need a larger tank. I hope that you are aware of that. You will not be able to grow a shark with the tank mates that you have. Puffers will snatch any live prey away from the shark.
thats why i had the shark alone in my 75. so i do know about sharks. and once it got big it was moved.

I apologize for saying that, sharkman pissed me off and I was just talking, but I am not the only one who thinks you and your shark situation was anything but a bad idea. and don't tell me to grow up, I have respect for people who show me respect and this site is filled with nothing but jerks and people who think they are the ----. I don't know your shark situation or what it was but we all have opinions.
