can i keep monti caps under this lighting?

its a coralife deluxe lunar series fixture with 2 65 watt true atinic 03 blue compact fluorescent lamps 2 65 watt 10,000K daylight compact fluorescent lamps 48" over a 55 gallon tank

eh, i would go with t-5s or at least VHO if youre looking at buying new lights.
it may survive under that light, but would most likely brown out over time.

i disagree montis are some of the easiest sps to care for and many ppl (including me) have them under pc's i think u can do it

the zoas are fine, but digitatas need very intense lighting to keep their colors. they need more light than most acro's. i keep mine a few inches from the water surface under a 250w MH bulb.

yeah i would do more than regular pc's...t5's or better

ill try to get some picks of it tomorrow i have had it for about four months and i fraged it once and the frag is doing great it isnt a colored one its tan but it was that way wen i bought it and yes they had enough lighting for it at the lfs cause they had reds and greens in there too

exactly. a tan one has nothing to loose. try a red or green and i bet the color will dwindle over time.

i no y because pc's dant have as much par (i think its wat its called) and dont penetrate as much as mh's but if they r close to the surface idk y they would lose color (that was the answer for J.P)
