echinatas? definetly not a good choice.
maybe a chalice, which isnt an sps. they have lots of color. why do you want to keep sps so bad?

Honestly, I have orange/red and green ones that haven't lost any color in the 4 months I've had them under PCs. Of course, the plan is that they'll be going in my 180 with MH when that's all setup (or in the frag tank under T-5s when that's ready, if the 180 isn't), but they haven't lost any color.... and they've all grown a great deal. I've even fragged the red one a bit and all the new growth has great color. They're about half way up the tank. They were also free frags, too, I was nervous at the thought of buying any, but since they were free I gave it a shot.

im not saying its impossible for them to keep color, but most will inevitably brown out.

J.P. - if you've already bought the lighting, maybe you should get a free (or really cheap) frag and try it out, but don't go spending $50 thinking it will make it. It never hurts to try, just keep it higher up in the tank.

i %110 agree with teen. i have tried it and it dosent work. yea u get growth but its slow nd the corals are brown.. So yes u can keep a monti in a tank with pcs but its gonna brown nd not grow as fast. This subject is like saying yea u can keep a tang in a 30gallon but its not gonna grow and not be as colorful or healthy. dont try it imo as i already have in a previous tank.
