can i keep sps with duel 175 mh

i currently have 4x65 and 2x96 on a bowfront. Im getting rid of the 4x65 and getting duel 175 watt mh and keeping my duel 96watt. It will be about 5-6 inches of the water. I have a 4 inch dsb..so from the surface of the dsb to the surface of water is about 1feet and 5 inches. Can i keep sps any where in the tank or only on top of the rocks. Can i keep any clams i want? Will my mushrooms and other lower lights corals be fine with the upgrade. Thanks.

I have had 6 small frags of SPS in my tank for alittle over a month.
They are growing nice and getting colors nicly. My lights are 10K w/ NO atinics. 12" off the surfce and the corals are placed near the top, maybe 8" down. The lights are on for 8 hours each light but 1 turns on 2 hours before the other, so 10 hours total light. The atinics are on for 12 hours.
As for the clam, I'm waiting for my LFS to get them in I traded a hydnaphora (SP) and they will give me a maxima when they get in. If I place it in the middle i'm sure it will do just fine.

I think metal hylides need to be kept a min. of 12" off the surface of the water.
